Scope and sequence is also important because it helps children to organize information into cognitive categories, or “file folders,” that support better cognitive storage and retrieval of information. For example, if one teaches information without a scope and sequence, one might move from teaching the short a sound in a consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) pattern (e.g., bag), to teaching the vowel digraph oa (e.g., boat), to teaching ch (e.g., chip), to teaching i_e (e.g., bike). It would be a lot easier to remember these patterns if they were taught in groups: for example, teaching all the short vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, and u), consonant digraphs that represent unique sounds (th, sh, ch), all the CVC-e (silent e) patterns (mate, Pete, bike, note, cute), and then both of the spelling patterns that represent the /oi/ sound (called a diphthong; oy and oi). If instruction follows a scope and sequence, the variations don’t seem random but rather work to form a category (e.g., “Oh this th is kind of like the ch, two letters that make a new consonant sound”).
We included studies that use randomisation, quasi‐randomisation, or minimisation to allocate participants to either a phonics intervention group (phonics alone, phonics and phoneme awareness training, or phonics and irregular word reading training) or a control group (no training or alternative training, such as maths). Participants were English‐speaking children, adolescents, or adults whose word reading was below the level expected for their age for no known reason (that is, they had adequate attention and no known physical, neurological, or psychological problems).

Phonics training appears to be effective for improving some reading skills. Specifically, statistically significant effects were found for nonword reading accuracy (large effect), word reading accuracy (moderate effect), and letter‐sound knowledge (small‐to‐moderate effect). For several other outcomes, there were small or moderate effect sizes that did not reach statistical significance but may be meaningful: word reading fluency, spelling, phonological output, and reading comprehension. The effect for nonword reading fluency, which was measured in only one study, was in a negative direction, but this was not statistically significant.

Between the two world wars, the German brothers Heinz and Lutz Heck crossed stallions of Przewalski's horse with mares of the Konik horse, as well as mares of other breeds such as the Dülmen pony, Gotland pony, and the Icelandic horse, to create a breed resembling their understanding of the tarpan phenotype. The result is called the Heck Horse.[9] Other breeders crossed Koniks with Anglo Arabians or the Thoroughbred to increase their quality as a riding horse.[4]
BUKU adalah Jendela ilmu, karena memang dengan buku kita bisa tahu banyak sesuatu. tak heran jika banyak manusia begitu menganggap buku sebagai sesuatu yang melambangkan pengetahuan. Tak heran pula jika banyak orang yang mencoba untuk membangun perpustakaan sebagai tempat dari jendela ilmu tersebut. Berikut adalah daftar 10 perpustakaan terbesar di dunia : 1. Library of Congress Library of Congress ini berada di Washington DC, Amerika Serikat. Library of Congress didirikan pada 1800.
The Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read app is based on the proven teaching methods of the Hooked on Phonics books and DVD sets. The 12 Steps in the app are designed for a Kindergarten reading level, whereas the physical product is for Pre-K through Second Grade. In addition, the app covers more sight words and has a library of 36 leveled eBooks that are only available within the app. These eBooks were written to correspond to the sounds and words being taught in each of the lessons, so the eBooks are 100% decodable to children who have completed the lessons. Thus, the eBook library gives children even more practice reading and more opportunities for success, which helps to boost their self confidence and pride as readers.

The spelling structures for some alphabetic languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese and specially Italian, are comparatively orthographically transparent, or orthographically shallow, because there is nearly a one-to-one correspondence between sounds and the letter patterns that represent them. English spelling is more complex, a deep orthography, partly because it attempts to represent the 40+ phonemes of the spoken language with an alphabet composed of only 26 letters (and no diacritics). As a result, two letters are often used together to represent distinct sounds, referred to as digraphs. For example, t and h placed side by side to represent either /θ/ or /ð/.
Jika anak memulai sekolah di Perth dalam usia yang ‘nanggung, yaitu usia-usia 5-6 tahun, akan muncul sedikit tantangan bagi ortu dalam upaya belajar mereka. Anak-anak dalam usia seperti ini pastilah sudah pernah mengenal huruf ABC dan mengejanya dalam bahasa Indonesia, tetapi belum benar-benar bisa membaca. Dengan cara pengucapan yang sangat berbeda, wah…anak-anak pasti mengalami kebingungan. Setahu dia, What You See is What You Say! heheheheh…in English, of course you cannot just say what you see!

As it phenotypically resembles the extinct tarpan,[11] the Konik has also been introduced into nature reserves in other nations. One of the first was the Oostvaardersplassen in the Netherlands.[12] In 1995, a herd was released in de Kleine Weerd, a 12-hectare strip of land (roughly 100 m by 1 km) along the river Meuse near Maastricht. The area is open to the public, but people are advised not to go near the horses because their reactions are unpredictable. Following the success of this program, Koniks were also brought to Latvia and to the United Kingdom, where they were placed in Wicken Fen near Cambridge by the National Trust. Due to the efforts of the Wildwood Trust, a charity which operates the Wildwood Discovery Park, and the Kent Wildlife Trust, Koniks also now live on several additional reserves, including the Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve, Ham Fen National Nature Reserve, Whitehall Meadow, Sandwich Bay, and Park Gate Down. In addition, the Suffolk Wildlife Trust introduced Polish Koniks for grazing as part of a broad restoration project of the Redgrave and Lopham Fen. Sussex Wildlife Trust have recently introduced a small herd in and around the Mount Caburn nature reserve.

Figure 1: Design of “Bijak Membaca” Figure 2 depicts the contents of the interactive multimedia application that applies learning strategies which are the Phonic Reading Technique and Multisensory Approach. Figure 2. Adaptation of Learning Strategies Researchers incorporate the first module with the Phonic Reading Technique, which involves letters, syllables, words, and sentences. Dyslexics have a few critical letters that they are confused with. These critical letters are b, d, m, n, p, q, u, and w [20]. Dyslexics are usually confused with small letters, and therefore a decision is made to integrate a letter with a picture to ensure that they recognize the letter. In the example of the interface design shown in Figure 3, each letter is provided with the letter-sound using the Phonic Reading Technique and embedded with video that shows the pronunciation technique. By using a pointing device, dyslexics can just move over the lettered object to hear the phonic pronunciation. Besides that, the embedded video of each letter can be repetitively played to practice the pronunciation technique. In some ways, it shows that the Multisensory Approach is also applied with the linking of eyes, ears, voice, and hand movements [6]. Figure 3. Letter-sound using Phonic Reading technique interface design As stated earlier in this section, there are three different types of exercises that apply the Multisensory Approach in the “Aktiviti” Module. Firstly, pronouncing activity page (“Latihan Sebut”), helps the user to differentiate the correct pronunciation of each critical letter. Figure 4 shows the interface designs of different categories in “Latihan Sebut”, which are letter, syllable, and sentence. The user has to click on the letter and it navigates to the next screen with the presence of sound. By doing this activity, dyslexics link their sensory organs such as eyes, ears, and hand movements interactively. The reason for developing this page is because dyslexics have problems with reading and recognizing letters. Figure 4. Interface Designs of “Sebut” Activity Secondly, drag and drop activity is chosen to give different interaction styles to dyslexics. The user needs to pick any letter provided and drag it to a correct place, based on the given picture (Figure 5). Besides drag and drop, the user can also click on the syllables to complete the task. These exercises are implemented by adapting the Multisensory Approach as the user needs to synchronize his hand movements by dragging the object to targeted areas with the coordination of his eyes. 2012 IEEE Colloquium on Humanities, Science & Engineering Research (CHUSER 2012), December 3-4, 2012, Kota Kinabalu,Sabah, Malaysia556
Phonics curriculum usually starts with teaching letters, slowly creating a working knowledge of the alphabet. Children learn the sounds of each letter by associating it with the word that starts with that sound. Phonics skills grow through reading activities, and students learn to distinguish between vowels and consonants and understand letter combinations such as blends and digraphs.
